Botox (Back to Top)
We all want to look our best. That’s not always easy, especially as forehead and frown lines start to develop. As these creases deepen they can make us appear angry, when in fact we actually feel quite content. Botox helps eliminate these perpetual frowns and restores a more serene quality to our faces. Its use allows us to send others the right message, giving them a truer impression of how we feel.
Chemical Peels (Back to Top)
Skin peels of varying descriptions have been used for thousands of years. According to historical accounts, ancient civilizations used masks composed of sour milk or wine residues to improve their appearance. Today, we may not use milk or wine, but chemical peels remain a proven method to help regain the smooth, healthy complexion you desire.
Chemical peels can be used to treat wrinkles, sun spots and facial scarring. However, for deeper scars, laser resurfacing, scar excision, or soft-tissue fillers may be more effective. Peels are most commonly performed on the face and neck, although the chest, hands, arms, back and legs can also be treated depending on the type of peel that is used.

By varying the amount of chemical applied, you can get different depths of peel while using the same chemical agent. A deep peel results in the regeneration of collagen, the protein that is a major component in the body's connective tissue. A superficial peel can achieve good results with repeated applications. Talk to Dr. Hecker about what peel would work best for you.
Collagen (Back to Top)
Collagen is a natural protein that is injected to plump up facial lines or add fullness to lips and backs of hands. Effects last a few months to a year, and there is no down time. Side effects are quite minimal, mainly limited to bruising and/or swelling lasting for a few days. Allergy to the collagen substance should be ruled out before undergoing this treatment.
Electrolysis (Back to Top)
In the hands of an experienced aesthetician, this procedure provides permanent hair removal by a sterile and safe method in which a very low-grade electric current is directed into each hair follicle to cause destruction of the existing hair and prevent regrowth of a new hair. Electrolysis is licensed and approved by the Florida Board of Medicine.
Laser Hair Removal (Back to Top)
For many men and women, unwanted hair can be a source of distress, embarrassment, and a daily annoyance. Hereditary factors, irregular levels of hormones, and some medications can cause abnormal or excessive hair growth. In addition, many people are sensitive to shaving normal hair growth on the legs, under the arms, on the bikini line, or on the face.

Until recently, hair removal options were limited to depilatory creams or lotions, shaving or plucking, frequent waxing, or electrolysis. For those not satisfied with these methods, there were few other choices.
Due to exciting developments in the field of laser technology, laser hair removal offers an additional alternative, which is ideally suited to treating very large areas, (arms, legs, backs, underarms and ears) as well as smaller areas. The treatment is easy, affordable, safe, and very efficient.
Laser Resurfacing (Back to Top)
Layers of skin are removed with a laser beam, and as the healing process progresses, a new, healthier-looking skin emerges. The effects last for several years, but the down time for this procedure is between 1 and 2 weeks with best results after several weeks. Possible side effects are infrequent, and include infection, scarring, cold sores, and skin color changes.

Methods of Laser Resurfacing include "ablative and non-ablative." Contact Dr. Hecker to determine which method would work best for you.
Laser Spider Vein Treatment (Back to Top)
Smooth, unblemished skin can be a significant aspect of looking and feeling your best. Many women feel uncomfortable wearing fashions that reveal unsightly veins on their legs. Others may be self-conscious about facial spider veins and generalized redness associated with rosacea (red nose and cheeks). The good news is that these skin conditions can be treated utilizing laser technology.

Lasers are able to remove spider veins and generalized redness while leaving the normal skin behind. They reach into the skin to remove the problem, while barely disturbing the overlying skin.
Laser Surgery (Back to Top)
Various lasers can be used to treat a number of unwanted marks or lesions on the skin. These include vascular birth marks, sun spots (called lentigos), spider veins or telangiectasias on the face and legs, tattoos, and other long-lasting skin color changes brought on by sun damage or by such dermatologic conditions as rosacea. These lasers typically have none or very little down time, and often times no anesthesia is required for the procedure.
Micro Dermabrasion (Back to Top)
Most people, especially those that have suffered acne scarring, desire clear skin. Dermabrasion helps to sand away some of the scarring left from acne as well as fine wrinkles that develop around the lips. The technique has its roots in ancient Egypt, where at the time of the Pharaohs they used pumice stones and alabaster to remove skin blemishes. Modern dermabrasion began at the turn of the last century where spinning abrasive burrs were first employed.
Permanent Makeup (Back to Top)
Experience the freedom of a natural and permanent cosmetic application of
color for:

--facial makeup as in full lip color, eyebrows, eyeliner, or a beauty mark, personalized with colors and shapes that will enhance your looks
--nipple and areola cosmetics to restore the natural look of your breast after reconstructive surgery
--scar camouflage to minimize scarring and restore the look of your normal skin
Tattoo Removal (Back to Top)
People get tattoos for many reasons, as a sign of a commitment to a friend, membership in a group, or peer pressure. In the course of a lifetime, these commitments and the groups we belong to will change.

Whatever the reason, people often lose affection for their tattoos; they then wish they were gone. With laser surgery you can help undo what you thought you had permanently done. It offers the only real hope of improvement without significant scarring.
