Our medical practice treats the widest variety of skin conditions from acne to psoriasis. Most importantly, we recognize, diagnose, and treat skin cancers, looking to catch them before they become life- threatening. We are fully aware that the incidence of skin cancer is on the rise, and we believe that twice yearly skin examinations ensures great skin health. Skin cancers are the most frequently diagnosed cancers in the United States. More than a million estimated new non- melanoma skin cancers are diagnosed in the United States each year. The Doctors Hecker believe that causes for the increased incidence of skin cancer include an aging population, improved detection, an increased use of tanning beds, and environmental factors such as depletion of the ozone layer.
Of course, Cosmetic dermatology does play a vital part of the practice. Drs. David and Melanie Hecker are skilled in current laser treatments for eliminating wrinkles, tattoos, brown spots, and spider veins. They also use fillers, Botox and chemical peels to enhance skin rejuvenation.
