Sculptra Aesthetic

Wrinkle fillers and injectables have long since moved away from the days when there was only one option. Everyone’s skin is different and responds differently to anti-wrinkle treatments. In many cases, a dermal filler isn’t needed at all. Instead, a volumizer will do the trick – and that’s exactly where Sculptra comes in. Sculptra Aesthetic works by replacing the natural volume lost with age to plump the skin to rejuvenate its youthful luster. While a full-on surgical facelift will indeed pull back layers to smooth the skin, it will not however add back the crucial volume lost.

Sculptra Aesthetic Dermatologist Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale Dermatologist Melanie Hecker recommends Sculptra Aesthetic to treat a variety of skin conditions. Droopy or saggy skin? Flattened contours of the face? All can benefit from the healing powers of Sculptra Aesthetic. An older face shows a loss in volume around the mouth and experience loss in fullness to the cheeks, temples and around the eyes. This creates a hollow effect and where there once was light is now a hollow shadow. When volume is replaced, the shadowed areas become more full to restore the appearance of light, youth and vibrance.

Volume replacement of Sculptra lifts the skin without the use of surgery, scalpels and sutures. Skin is lifted naturally by your body’s own collagen. While surgery will remove excess skin, Fort Lauderdale Dermatologist Melanie Hecker will actually restore skin with volume.

What is Sculptra made of?

Sculptra is made of a tiny polymer called poly L lactic acid (PLLA). PLLA is a synthetic biodegradable that is absorbable and compatible with your body’s natural systems.

How does Sculptra work?

Sculptra works as a volumizer, not a dermal filler. It is injected in calculated areas to stimulate your body’s own collagen production to replace volume and contour to reveal a more youthful appearance.

Are there any side effects to Sculptra?

As with all injectable, there may be temporary swelling and bruising at the site of the injection. There is no downtime with Sculptra and the patient may resume the day’s activities uninhibited.

How long does Sculptra last?

The best things about Sculptra is how long it lasts. While results vary from patient to patient, Fort Lauderdale Dermatologist Dr. Hecker has seen results last greater than two years! As results begin to diminish, it’s then possible to maintain the desired youthful effects with touch up treat

Anti-Aging For The Modern Age

Sculptra Aesthetic is a facial dermatologic injectible designed to give you youth-restoring results over a period of time. Sculptra is made from a poly-L-lactic Acid which rejuvenates skin by promoting skin cells to replace lost collagen resulting in a natural appearance. Unlike other dermal fillers, a series of Sculptra injectibles typically produces results that last for more than two years.

The Sculptra Aesthetic Process

As we age, the collagen in our skin begins to break down. The collagen beneath the skin is a key element which provides volume and gives shape to our face. As our skin’s collagen breaks down, wrinkles, lines and fold begin to appear and worsen with time. Sculptra works by stopping and correcting this process right in its tracks. Each injection improves volume, rejuvenates lost collagen and corrects both shallow and deep facial folds and wrinkles. An average Sculptra session consists of three to four injections spread out over a few months. While results are not minimally immediate, Sculptra promotes the skin to produce collagen which builds with time.

Sculptra Before & After

The following images are of real Sculptra Aesthetic patients. As you can see, results are extremely natural by volumizing skin for a youthful appearance.

Anti-Age for the Modern Age

Sculptra® Aesthetic Derma lFiller is a facial injectable treatment that is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems as a one-time treatment of up to 4 injection sessions that are scheduled several weeks apart. Sculptra®Aesthetic corrects shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles and it works gradually to replace the body’s lost facial collagen that occurs with aging.

Why We Age

The collagen beneath the skin is a key element that provides volume and gives shape to our face. At about age 30 years old, collagen begins to break down. As a result, wrinkles, lines, and folds gradually appear and worsen with time.

Most injectables you know of can fill these wrinkles, lines and folds. Sculptra®Aesthetic Dermal Filler works differently because it replaces lost collagen and provides structure that lets your new look emerge more discreetly. Although the results are not immediate and may take several injection sessions to complete, the results of Sculptra®Aesthetic can last up to 25 months. In between sessions, it is working to build collagen so that your Dermatologist can fine-tune your treatment area during follow-up treatments.

Possible Side Effects

Sculptra®Aesthetic Dermal Filler has an excellent side effect profile. Side effects may include injection site discomfort, redness, bruising, bleeding, itching and swelling. Small lumps may occur under the skin. In the clinical studies, the numbers of lumps were low and most resolved without treatment.
